Program Description
The Middlebury School in France offers an exceptional academic program to undergraduates at U.S. colleges and universities. Students who have completed five semesters of French language training participate in the program under the Middlebury Language Pledge®.
Home to both medieval quartiers and the modern Futuroscope park, Poitiers is a blend of ancient and contemporary France. Poitiers, a city of 85,000 people, located in the Poitou-Charentes region, is an hour and a half by TGV from Paris and close to the major tourist attractions of the Loire valley.
All students engage in at least one co-curricular activity, such as an internship or volunteer work, and take their courses alongside French students at the Université de Poitiers.
Cultural understanding and linguistic development are the goals of Middlebury Schools Abroad. Our goal is to provide an enriching academic experience and to give students the best chance of actively engaging in their new environment. Students have many opportunities for immersion, from coursework entirely in French to housing in student residencies; from internships and volunteer work to activities among the student body of the Université de Poitiers.
