Program Description
Please note that a minimum G.P.A. of 2.90 (on a 4.0 scale) is required to participate in this Program.
Students with advanced Spanish abilities have the chance to receive a Diploma of Hispanic Studies. Please inquire for more information.
Please inquire for course listings with Spanish students through our University Integration Program. This option is open to students who have scored an Advanced II level on the Spanish Placement Exam. Students are able to enroll in up to two regular university courses. For classes conducted in English, this requirement is unnecessary.
Pablo de Olavide University issues transcripts. There are a minimum of 8 students in each Spanish language class and a maximum of 16. Other classes have a minimum of 8 students and a maximum of 24. There are occasional activities on Fridays, but classes run Monday through Thursdays.
Through the Hispanic Studies Program, students can participate in semester courses conducted in English and Spanish in areas such as political science, history, economics, business, and art. There are six levels of Spanish language courses and include translation, reading & composition, phonetics, conversation, and business Spanish. There are also courses in medical anthropology, psychology, and chemistry (with a lab component), and biology which are offered in English.
