Program Description
A multicultural program based on Euro-Mediterranean Studies
The program objective is to expand participant's horizons while discovering French and Mediterranean cultures.
The study of cross-cultural influences allows a better understanding of the links uniting European and Mediterranean countries.
Program content:
- French language course : development of French language skills through interactive on-going communication. Assessment of language competence using the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages guidelines (CEFRL) : 45 hrs
- Arabic language course : a hands-on approach to the Arabic language targetted at beginners, that will enable participants to communicate in simple situations: 45 hrs
- Euro-Mediterranean study: this course focuses on cross-cultural relations between Europe and neighbouring countries: 45 hrs
- Service-Learning (45hrs) including:
* a French Institutions course : the Institutions course is taught in English or French depending on participants language competence. It deals with the major issues at stake in French society and the way they are met by institutions and associations. It complements students volunteer activities, linking traditional learning and experimentation
*Volunteering. The community service activities are organized according to the requests of the participating students, their abilities and expectations. They can choose from a wide variety of placements: education, health care, humanitarian, culture or environme
