Denmark: Seminar on Scandinavian Design

Overall rating: 0 based on 0 reviews

Program Description

Denmark is a hub for incorporating culture with design. For almost a century, this country has been the center for furniture design internationally. The lifestyle of the locals play a part in the creation of their furniture. Participants will have the opportunity to see the works of Nanna Ditzel, Arne Jacobsen, Poul Kjaerholm, and Hans Wegner in factories, showrooms, and museums.

With an emphasis on Denmark, students will be immersed in the universe of Scandinavian Design. Be a part of the Danish Institute for Study Abroad in Copenhagen and learn about furniture. Go on field trips and listen to fascinating lectures on textiles, lighting, graphic arts, and architecture. There is the opportunity to see IKEA’s headquarters located in Sweden. You will also go on excursions to manufacturers and showrooms such as Midform, Fritz Hansen, and PP Mobler.
