Program Description
Panama is a crossroads between the Americas and Panama City, its capital, is a bustling metropolitan city surrounded by tropic rain forests and serving as a hub for international trade. Students will be immersed in a bilingual community within Latin American culture while studying liberal arts, science, and business. Modernity and history combine seamlessly in this lush destination filled with diversity.
Safe and hospitable, Panama is home to the eighth wonder of the world, the Panama Canal. Alongside international commerce, Panama is full of natural wonders to explore for those who enjoy the outdoors.
Students will be able to experience this tropical area with beaches, historical areas, and modern Panama. By joining the Broad Curriculum program, students can earn credits for elective courses and general requirements.
Students will go on excursions to the Panama Canal, indigenous communities, the island homes of Kuna Indians, and the cosmopolitan, old, and colonial centers of Panama City. Students will experience local customs, handicrafts, food, and culture. Surf, sunbathe, deep sea-fish, and participate in ecotourism like hikes and other adventurous activities.
