Athena Study Abroad in Salamanca, Spain

Overall rating: 0 based on 0 reviews

Program Description

Salamanca is a small, lively city located about an hour and a half from Spain's capital, Madrid. It has easy access to travel throughout Spain or outside of the country. Filled with a diverse population of international students, Salamanca is truly a University City. This is a perfect location for students looking to enhance their Spanish language skills.

Students will be attending the Pontifical University of Salamanca for a unique experience studying with only locals. Courses are focused on health sciences and, if they have intermediate/high Spanish language proficiency, students can intern at Salamanca's most important private hospital. The University was founded by King Alfonso IX in 1218, acknowledged as one of the four great world universities by Pope Alexander IV, and has notable alumni such as Hernan Cortez and Christopher Columbus.
