Having never tried animation before, I was keen to jump into this new area of art as it always fascinated me. Since being a child I remember spending hours drawing my favourite film characters and making my own coming books. Being able to make those characters move for the first time is incredibly satisfying. The course gave me just the right equipment and environment to spend time experimenting and finding my own style. I have met an amazing group of talented people from all over the world and we still remain in touch months later. The staff are also supportive and insightful, putting emphasis on a range of modern art techniques, but also drawing importance to traditional art methods such as life drawing, which is a vital skill in animation. Don't be put off if you have little or no experience. I haven't had the opportunity to animate properly prior to the course, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I've always had a passion for the moving image so if you are determined enough and keen to learn, it will come to you naturally. Just go for it! It was definitely the highlight of my summer! And the city is absolutely beautiful (you will love the beaches!)
