Program Description
Our spring semester runs for 14 weeks from early February to mid-May, with a week’s break halfway through.
We offer a variety of liberal arts subjects:
Britain Today: Issues and Perspectives (core course – mandatory) – taught by Amanda Milburn
Shakespeare the Dramatist – taught by Jean Elliott
Theatre, Audience and Society: Tragedy and Beyond – taught by Christine Hoenigs
Britain in the Age of Revolution and Reform – taught by Keith Surridge
The Nineteenth and Twentieth Century English Novel – taught by Susie Thomas
British Masters: Eighteenth Century to Present – taught by Carole Machin
The Economic Integration of the European Union – taught by Andreas Staab
Media in the UK – taught by Christopher Cook (this course will be held in spring 2018, then will move to fall from fall 2018 onwards)
There is also an internship option for this programme – seminars taught by Kalyn Franke

Highlights
- Out-of-town trips (e.g. Oxford, Bath, Edinburgh)- At least 2 theatre trips (for everyone, and at least 4-6 more if you enrol in the London Theatre and/or Shakespeare the Dramatist class)
- Various in-class visits, including: Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, Al Jazeera, Tate Britain and Tate Modern galleries, the Victoria and Albert Museum, St Paul's Cathedral, the British Museum, the Churchill War Rooms, the Tower of London, Mayor of London's Questions, Prime Minister's Questions at UK Parliament
