The A.U.K. “Peace Building” Summer Program has provided students from the Balkans and around the world a fully accredited program taught by a combination of academic specialists and distinguished practitioners in the diplomatic, military, and civilian aspects of conflict resolution and post-conflict reconstruction in the Balkans and beyond since 2010.

A.U.K. believes this is an important and unique program which provides an opportunity for the students to interact with others from around the world. The program brings together instructors from academia, government, and civil society to discuss and share practices that have proven successful in improving of post-conflict relations as well as to provide role plays aimed at learning how to promote collaboration. One of A.U.K.’s main goals is to further expand and strengthen mutual respect, tolerance, and friendly ties cross the borders of the formerly conflict-torn region by encouraging intellectual and social interaction among the international and regional program participants. Faculty provide hands-on perspective. Through participation the student will be taking advantage of the ‘living laboratory” associated with the historical and cultural sites of Kosovo and the surrounding region.

The program has had from its inception a diverse and talented student body. In past years, students have come from Kosovo, Serbia, Albania, Macedonia, Bosnia, and Croatia as well as the United State

What`s Included

The program lasts five weeks and the total cost is 2600 Euros and includes:
- full tuition for two courses (6 credits from our partner university Rochester Institute of Technology in New York),
- visits and Friday forums
- room and board at an attractive near-by dormitory,
- breakfast/ lunch/ dinner from Monday to Friday,
- two day-trips within Kosovo, and
- participation in one of the two regional trips (one week): Montenegro, Bosnia, and Serbia OR Albania, Greece, and Macedonia (including meals, hotels, transport, and fees).
