Program Description
Although rock climbing is a relatively new sport in Panama, its success has taken off quickly thanks to the hard work and dedication of Cesar Melendez, Panama's first professional rock climber. You will have the opportunity to take tours and/or climbing courses directly from Cesar, learning all about the beautiful places to climb in Boquete.
Rock climbing began in Panama in the district of Boquete. There are 5.3 and 5.5 routes that amateurs and beginners can climb. This is a great opportunity to build skills and gain experience since locals have developed routes from 5.9 to 5.13a. This measurement in difficulty is established by the Yosemite Decimal System. There is a difficult 4 meter roof route and the highest wall is 30 meters tall.
The Group 4 course is typically scheduled from 1pm - 5pm and the rock climbing tours and/or courses are scheduled from 9am - 12pm (Monday to Friday).
The accommodation can be with a local family or we can make a reservation for you at a hostel or hotel that we recommend.

Highlights
The Group 4 classes have no more than 6 students all at your exact same Spanish level. All of our teachers are Panamanian, have college-degrees, and are full time employees at our school. We teach using the Communicative Method, which is based on conversation and activity-based tasks rather than memorization and workbook activities. You will be given an Habla Ya-created book to use during class, which is included in the course fee.You will have your own private room in the home stay and we do our best to not place multiple students in one host family. The families frequently take students to the beach, visit with other local family and friends, or play games at home. We encourage interaction as much as the student feels comfortable.
Our school is accredited by the Cervantes Institute in Spain. We are a DELE exam preparation and examination center. Many of our host families have worked with our program for over 5 years.
