Spanish Immersion Program - Boquete, Panama

Program Description

Our Spanish Immersion Program is an opportunity to experience Panamanian culture and learn Spanish in a natural setting. Our school is located in the beautiful mountainous region of Boquete, Panamá - the eco-adventure capital. Boquete is a medium-sized traditional Panamanian town and English is not spoken by the majority of the locals. You will have plenty of time outside of Spanish classes to enjoy the beauty, tranquility and adventure that Boquete has to offer. Our Group 4 course is scheduled from 1pm - 5pm since it is more likely to rain in the afternoons (May - December). This gives you the sunny mornings to spend time with your host family, go on excursions with local guides, or possibly even volunteer at a local school or NGO. We strive to provide our students with a full experience, not just Spanish lessons. You will be able to experience the local culture through living with a host family who will go out of their way to invite you into their family, culture lessons in your Spanish classes given by your Panamanian teacher, and performances and cultural activities planned through the school in the evenings and weekends.

Highlights

Our school is accredited by the Cervantes Institute in Spain. We are a DELE exam preparation and examination center. Many of our host families have worked with our program for over 5 years.

You will have your own private room in the home stay and we do our best to not place multiple students in one host family. The families frequently take students to the beach, visit with other local family and friends, or play games at home. We encourage interaction as much as the student feels comfortable.

The Group 4 classes have no more than 6 students all at your exact same Spanish level. All of our teachers are Panamanian, have college-degrees, and are full time employees at our school. We teach using the Communicative Method, which is based on conversation and activity-based tasks rather than memorization and workbook activities. You will be given an Habla Ya-created book to use during class, which is included in the course fee.

What`s Included

Group 4 Course (20 hours/week) in a group of no more than 6 students all at the exact same Spanish level.
Homestay with local family with 2 meals/day.
Homestay set up fee for arranging the home stay and providing on-going support.
