Pura Vida!
Spanish by the River gives you the possibility to learn Spanish while enjoying the easy-going Costa Rican life in Turrialba. If you want to combine Spanish classes with volunteer work or adventurous activities, Turrialba is the place for you! You will have the option to stay at our hostel/school, or learn more about the Ticos while staying with a local host family.
Our Spanish classes are given by native teachers who take into consideration the questions and needs of their students. You can choose for private lessons or enjoy the company of other students in small group lessons. We have an Intensive Spanish program (6 hours a day) for those who want to advance more quickly and a Standard Spanish program (4 hours a day) for students who want to combine their classes with fun activities or volunteer work in Turrialba. Regardless of which you choose, our teachers will make sure you have a good time while studying since our belief is that you learn better when you can relax your mind at times!
If you really want to immerse yourself in the Spanish language, Turrialba is the perfect place. Many locals don´t speak English so you will get to practice your Spanish in everyday situations!
