Purple Bamboo Chinese School-Language Camp

Just like water which takes the shape of the vessel it is poured into, our method adapts to the way our students' think and learn.

Additionally, we believe that a language is primarily based on listening and speaking rather than just reading and writing. Our teaching method thus uses our students' own ideas, stories and sentences to which the student can relate. Learning with us becomes as natural as learning one's mother language.

When it comes to learning languages, the younger the better, and so our comprehensive Mandarin and cultural programs are offered by the Purple Bamboo School for students aged 8 years old and up.

Our experienced and understanding teachers, coordinators and you will work together to create a personalized, engaging and instructional program for you.

LANGUAGE PACKAGE

1. We have a professional team which is responsible for the entire program including safety, the coordination of the program activities and the language courses.

2. We carefully select hotels and restaurants for two meals a day. If you choose the homestay option, the hosting family will also provide two meals a day and of course the atmosphere of Chinese life.

3. All of our teachers have a university degree and extensive teaching experience.

4. You may choose between Camp A and B or choose both.


BUSINESS PACKAGE

For the past few years, more and more companies have cooperated with Chinese firms or started a branch in China while more and more Chinese companies are going abroad, as well. Doing business with Chinese companies is not always easy as the language barrier is high and social norms tend to be different in China.

In order to better promote international exchange and cooperation, many companies have started training their employees by teaching them Mandarin, business etiquette and about Chinese culture.

We believe that the most effective way to learn a language is by experiencing it and its relationship with culture and customs. Therefore, we have devised two camps which can be chosen separately or combined.


SAMPLE WEEKLY SCHEDULE OF CAMP B

City Part

We designed 8 topics covering 5 necessities of life, which are clothing, food, shelter, ways to travel and things we use in our daily life. These topics are linked to Chinese history from Xia dynasty to the present. The Camp will last for 10 days. Each day of the first 8 days has three parts: language and culture classes in the morning and practical classes that closely relate to morning courses in the afternoon. There will be some fun activities in the evenings as well. Most importantly, students will feel the mystery of ancient and modern Beijing on this amazing journey.

Language classes: students will learn 200 vocabulary words and 50 different grammatical structures.
Culture classes: allow the students to make craftworks related to the ancient culture of Beijing and understand the profound influence of Beijing culture.
Practical classes: students will travel around Beijing, solve problems, play games and get to know more about Beijing folk customs.


Countryside Part

After exploring the city, students will be invited to rural areas to enjoy the countryside culture for the last two days of the program.

The Summer Camp will finish with a trip to the Great Wall. We believe that the journey throughout past and modern culture with us is an interesting and vivid experience.
