General English Language Course

Program Description

Beginner- CEFRL A1: Learn the daily vocabulary needed for communicating and sharing information in English as well as numbers and the alphabet.

Elementary - CEFRL A1-A2: Improve your basic skills in grammar as you build upon this structure with new vocabulary, increased reading skills, survival English, and more complex grammar. You will also learn sentence structure, verb tenses, adverbs, and adjectives.

Pre-Intermediate - CEFRL A2+: Build your vocabulary for daily English as well as conditional sentences, simple reported speech, adverbs and adjectives, determiners and prepositions, pronouns and nouns, and verbs (forms such as tenses modal, irregular, and regular).

Intermediate - CEFRL B1: Students in this course will learn about writing informal letters, developing reading and listening skills, disagreeing and agreeing in English, directions, question forms, passives (past and present tenses) and future forms.

Upper Intermediate - CEFRL B2: This course covers giving interviews, telephone conversations, talking about relationships, expressing details and opinions on your ambitions and yourself, interpreting texts, formal writing and letters, and complex verb patterns.

Advanced - CEFRL C1: Students will go over conversations, discussions, and spoken interviews. This course will also involve text completion, register transfer, word formation, error correction, and gap fill. Develop your writing, listening, reading, and speaking accuracy as you extend your grammar knowledge.

Proficiency - CEFRL C2: This course will allow you to achieve complete accuracy in spoken and written English while extending your vocabulary and allowing you to improve your oral fluency on numerous topics. Differentiate the different levels of language formality and learn slang, idioms, as well as phrasal verbs. Revise your grammar to make your English more natural.

This content of each level is planned according to the Common European Framework for Languages (CEFRL) with the books that you use. Students are encouraged to study at home and in the local libraries to help assist their learning at College. Every level in the General English course has emphasis on speaking English with confidence, reading, listening, and writing.
