Program Description
The CUHK International Summer School offers the Chinese Language Programme in August every year, which provides students with an opportunity to learn Putonghua and acquire pragmatic competence through lessons and immersion activities. The Programme embraces language learning and cultural immersion, and offers a remarkable experience for non-native Chinese learners.
There is a choice of 4 levels of Putonghua courses to consolidate vocabulary, grammar and speaking skills. Each level consists of two 3-credit courses and carries 6 credits in total. Simplified Chinese characters will be used in lessons.

Highlights
Well-trained teachers from CUHK Yale-China Chinese Language CentreSmall group of below 23 students in each course
Field trips in Hong Kong, Macau and Shenzhen will be held on Saturdays to help international students discover Chinese heritage as well as the unique culture and system of each of the three cities
What`s Included
The full programme fee includes tuition (waived for exchange students), administration, orientation, opening and graduation banquets, activities and on-campus accommodation (including air-conditioning and simple bedding but not including a meal plan).Students will also pay for his/her student visa application, a hostel deposit, and a caution money.
