Outline: Copy editors’ primary responsibility is to make sure course materials follow proper editorial style and are free of errors. They will also actively make suggestions to improve the material based on specific course and level requirements.
Copy editors report directly to the Editing Team Leader. They work with course developers, proofreaders, and fellow copy editors.
·Proofread academic course materials and correct all mistakes according to editorial guidelines.
·Copy edit course materials to create well-balanced, cohesive lessons.
·Actively improve/rewrite the course material, including all graphic/layout content.
·Provide suggestions on how to revise course materials and editorial style (as laid out in official Style Guide).
·Communicate well with colleagues and provide clear explanations with evidence for editorial decisions.
·Be able to complete tasks both independently and as part of a team.
·Be able to multitask, prioritize, and organize your workload to meet deadlines.
·Create the main base of written material required for the courses.
·Respond to complaints and suggestions from the teachers and students.
·Take part in meetings/trainings and collaborate with team to improve editorial consistency.
Requirements:
1、Speaks English at an idiomatic level
2、College/University degree in a related subject, such as education, English language, literature, or similar.
3、Excellent English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
4、Show a good understanding of Children’s English education. (especially online-based)
5、Must be creative, with good communication and cooperation skills.
6、Experience in developing long-term projects and working under pressure.
7、At least 2 years’ work experience in an education-based company or as an English teacher.
8、Good computer skills are a must, including word processing and simple design.
9、TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification and EFL skills/experience is an advantage.
