What was your journey before coming to ESMOD? Did you always had in mind to work in fashion ?

Before ESMOD I obtained my baccalaureate ES. I went to school at the age of 18 , right after high school. It’s pretty strange and naif but fashion was something I was always passionate about. I still remember when I was in primary school I would watch fashion shows with my mom. I did try to put this dream to the side and just to follow what everybody else do but this passion never left me. So after finishing my high school, the choice had been made : I wanted to work in the fashion field and that’s all!

Let’s go back to the topic of your schooling at ISEM : What type of student were you ? What are your best (or worst) memories ?

I was always a stressed student, too stressed. During the years at ESMOD I would often get these anxiety. To overcome the stress I would try to be as organised as possible so that I won ‘t be late in my works, to be rigorous and to always work with passion. I think my best memories are the people I got to meet at school. I also keep a great memory of my final jury collection that I had made from the beginning till the end for the 3rd year. I would tell myself feeling proud, “Yes ! I made all this ! “
Just a little after finishing high school, I found that ESMOD gave high school students a way to move on to the professional life in a smooth transition. I was assisted during my 2 years at ESMOD Bordeaux, which was something that I needed. In the 3rd year my teachers were supporting me and pushing me to reach my ideas till the end. I remember they would say “the only limit you will have is the limit you put yourself“. ESMOD taught me a lot of things. I started the school without really knowing how to draw and had no experience with the usage of a sewing machine and I learned it all here.

According to you, what would be ISEM’s specialty and the strong assets ?

Personally, I think the teaching staffs is the main assets of ESMOD. I had the chance to have teachers that loves teaching and that are good at teaching. After receiving my diploma, I was supported and accompanied by ESMOD for the processus and for the search  of  internships which is definitely a plus for the students and is not something that we can find everywhere.

Tell us about your journey after ISEM, your tasks and the responsibilities from the past and now.

At the end of my studies at ESMOD, after a short path in the Com, I did an intern in the couture house of Pascal Millet in the luxry ready-to-wear as an stylist assistant of Pascal Millet himself. Today this internship became a place where I work now and I really enjoy it. It really lets me to invest in myself and to thrive next to Pascal. For an example, I participate for the elaboration of the collection by helping to create trend panels by researching inspirations. I assist with fittings and discover the production and the collection sales. It’s a lot time consumming but it is worth the while.
