Program Description

The Internship Role
As a sports management intern working as a member of our in-country team in Buenos Aires, your role will be to ensure the smooth running of daily operations by supporting the local staff and our sports coaching volunteers by providing local orientations and project inductions to each new arrivals, as well as attending placements with volunteer coaches and providing feedback to our lead coordinators.

A key element in the daily running of operations in Argentina involves producing and updating new and interesting content for our in-country team’s social media accounts and the relevant websites, in order to promote the positive impact that sport is having in Buenos Aires.

In addition to the coordination of daily volunteer activities you will also assist with the development of new sports placements through effective communication with local sports clubs and sports development NGOs. This is an important aspect of the role, as the ever changing environment in disadvantaged communities means that placements are constantly evolving.

Position qualities
This placement is aimed towards individuals looking to dramatically improve their current Spanish language skills, as well as looking to gain an insight into the development of sport in Buenos Aires to supplement their current or previous studies.

We are looking to find sportsmen or women with good Spanish language skills to join our team as a Management and Coordinator Intern in the amazing city of Buenos Aires for anything from 3 – 12 months. Applicants will need to be outgoing, confident and flexible, as the role will require effective communication with a range of stakeholders as well as good copy-writing skills for publication on all relevant media platforms

Responsibilities:
1. Helping to set up new placements and communicating with local sports clubs and NGOs.
2. Supporting new volunteers, providing a local orientation and induction on arrival.
3. Updating the in-country team’s social network accounts and relevant websites with new content.
4. Supporting our local staff by attending placements with new volunteers.

Qualifications

Applicants will need to have at least 1 year of experience in a Sport Management degree (at least 1st year completed), or a relevant field of work. A passion sport is highly recommended, and an out-going, confident and flexible attitude. Copy-writing experience would be beneficial but not required.
