The program was great, everything went smoothly for me. Gi2C was very organized and was able to help me with various different issues in Shanghai. The only flaws I would say is that, there aren't too much work at the internship, the job can be quite dull,

In short, Shanghai is awesome. Everyone should come here at least once as it's just too much fun.
The internship was good and I have no complaints. It was well organised and I always had work to do. I worked in a company specialising in Far East Asian Tax and did learn a lot about the tax systems in these countries.
Hats off to GI2C; they did a great job!

Shanghai, China was a new experience to me. I did my exchange in Asia before, but not China.

First of all the internship that I had was pretty diverse, worked in a nice diverse team, learned a lot and I have even been inspired. Concluding it was an experience never to forget.

Gi2C certainly helped me very well by arranging this internship partly. At first instance there were already some issues concerning getting the visa for China, but Gi2C kept on searching for other options and supported me with this problem. Once in China I experienced some issues concerning my internship, in a day Gi2C arranged two new interviews with a good end.
Also later on I faced some health issues because of the air pollution. Everything ended well, because Gi2C helped me really well. Furthermore they organize nice day trips in Shanghai, are willing to help with issues, are kind and easy to contact.

I can definitely recommend this program, because they help you really well by arranging an internship. I know how difficult it can be to arrange an internship. I am a very well organizer and have an eye for detail by nature, but for some nationalities (even west European!) arranging a visa can be very troubling, Gi2C helps with every aspect where help is needed, China is a beautiful country overall and an agency can just be that little bit more you need to get that great internship into the pocket a bit more easily. Last but not least China is beautiful, interesting, mind blowing, shocking, wicked, a great teacher, everywhere and something you won't forget.

I have never thought about going to China in the near future, especially living in Shanghai for a while. It was my first time in Asia, and the idea of living in a city with 26 million people was scary. China surprised me in every single possible aspect! I loved my experience in China and especially Shanghai. It was really hard to leave.
My internship could never been better. It is an american startup company with a small good located office. A very multicultural company and friendly environment to work. I could firstly experience marketing tasks and it really got me interested.
I am happy to come to China through Gi2c Company. The Customer Representative staff are very friendly and helpful since the beginning of the process. I had the pleasure to go to many fun activities with Tanya and later Chirstel, exploring more the Chinese way of life. I appreciate specifically Christel's help when I needed it. I don't think I would have this amazing experience without Gi2c support.

I was a lot more nervous at the beginning because of the language barrier, because it’s a foreign place. But it’s been really nice and everything’s translating in English. So it’s been a lot easier than I thought. Every weekend we’ve planed events so it was much fun.
…Shanghai is very busy and very crowded, I like it and I really like people I’ve met here. I’ve never met so many like-minded people before, especially those from Gi2C and working at Shanghai Metal Corporation. Everyone here is here for a reason, for example for their career. So having a lot of like-minded people coming from all over a world I liked finding new bars, grab can of beer and just chat, I miss that.
Working environment at Shanghai Metal Corporation’s very strict. You must get here 8:30 am not 8:31. Meeting starts at 1pm not 1:10. So it’s very disciplined. It’s really serious and I liked it a lot, I’ve learned from there a lot.

The Chinese company where I am currently interning at is a consulting company. Its main goal is executive recruitment and consulting. My field of focus is to contact and recruit potential manager candidates for multinational companies. I know the basics of what I need to know about my job but still need more guidance and experience when it comes to approaching new potential candidates. Hopefully, at the end of my internship, I will have made strong connections as well as gained hands-on experience and knowledge about international commerce and business.

I chose to intern in China because it is the fastest growing economy in the world with endless opportunities in the labor market for multilingual workers with an international orientation. Also, I have already been in Shanghai for an academic semester, thus I am somehow familiarized with the city and living conditions of this country. What I've learned about China so far is that it is a very progressive country in many aspects such as infrastructure, technology and commerce, but it is also very backwards in other areas due to its lack of exposure to the external world. People live here through Confucian cultural codes like "Guanxi" and "Mianzi" and abide by a communal way of coexistence.

I didn't do much to prepare for my move to China as my previous experiences from studying abroad had already prepared me. My former Chinese teacher was pretty helpful in finding me a place to stay and picking me up from the airport.

After I told them I was going to intern in China, my family and friends all thought it was a great decision and opportunity for securing a potential full-time job overseas. I chose Gi2C Group to help me find an internship and provide support because I thought it was the most convenient way and medium to get a foot in the door in the companies that might capture my interest.

Completed on March 2015; this internship was a fantastic opportunity for me to expand my network and gain an international working experience in a dynamic market like the Chinese market; I have nothing to complain about the in-site assistance (even if sometimes the service wasn't elastic in conditions) but the program fee was maybe too expensive for what you get.
Excluding the fee aspect I would really recommend this internship as a way to have a personal improvement deriving from the experience abroad in a so different culture like Chinese culture and as a professional improvement as well.
Working here was fantastic, my company made me feel important for them, giving me even more responsibilities and letting me adapt in the best way possible; I've never felt the "cultural shock" thanks to them and I found so many kind people during this experience , making new friends and creating new work possibilities for the future.

I completed this program this year, 2015. They offered me a really great working place, which I really loved.

However, operations over the Mandarin language program were not satisfying.

Just 3 months..it feels like I have been here for a year.

My experience in Shanghai has been a very interesting one. I had much fun in this city, I met tons of people everyday in parties, meetings or any activity I had done including the excursions organized by Gi2C which some of them were great.

I also found many challenges I had to overcome as dealing everyday with a totally different culture and specially working with them, but at the end if you get to know them they are great people and very helpful. Other challenge was my internship, it wasn't what I was expecting, here I think Gi2C should had known better how the company's situation was and what was in it going on because the situations in a company can change due to management decisions and that can affect the situation of the interns as well...but i turned it over and the bad situation of the company helped me to to develop skills I didn't know I had.

Besides my "disappointing" internship my experience with Gi2C was good and Tanya, our coordinator in Shanghai, is always very helpful and tries to make your stay as satisfactory as possible.

This was a great personal and professional experience.

I believe that my trip to China was very valuable, personally. I have experienced a lot of the culture in the month that I was here and this part of the experience I very much enjoyed. The trips and activities organised by Gi2C were mostly the highlight of my time here, especially the Great Wall tour.

Professionally, I believe that 1 month here, was too short. I don't think I had enough time to prove myself in the Law Firm and therefore the tasks reflected the fact that they didn't know much about me besides what was written on my C.V.

The people I have met here have been amazing!!

It has definitely been a culture shock but I would recommend this programme to anyone looking for an adventure!!
