Program Description
Intern abroad with the Family Aid program and help this organization assist local communities in the Guatemalan Highlands. Your role in this internship will be to assist the Program Coordinator to monitor and evaluable emergency aid programs and develop plans for stove, filter, and chicken initiatives.
You will assist with analyzing the qualitative and quantitative data from local families in order to understand the needs of each individual and the possibilities for programs. You will launch a study to track the impact of donations. You will participate in any tasks required by the General Family Aid Coordinator and produce the daily communication reports for donors.

Qualifications
• Completed Bachelor’s or in final year of degree in Social Work, Sociology, Development Studies or related Social Science specialization• Understanding of basic development concepts and how to apply them
• Experience working in community development or social work
• Well-established research skills
• Highly organized and ability to develop administrative systems
• Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to learn in a new cultural environment
• Ability to relocate to Panajachel, Guatemala for a minimum of 3 months
• Excellent written English and preferably Spanish skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills

What`s Included
We do not charge you to volunteer with Mayan Families like many organizations do. However, we do not provide any financial assistance, housing, or meals. You are responsible for all of your own expenses, including travel to and from Guatemala.
