Shadowing doctors

A Gap Medics placement is all about shadowing – being alongside carefully selected doctors and other health professionals as they go about their day-to-day work in hospitals. It’s the ultimate way to discover first-hand what being a doctor is really like. Your placement is likely to include a variety of different shadowing settings, from watching surgical operations in theatre to ward rounds and outpatient clinics. If you’re looking for a general overview of life as a hospital doctor, we’ll place you in the departments we know will give you the best and most varied experience. We are also happy to take into consideration your specific interests, and we have opportunities in a huge range of departments including paediatrics, surgery, orthopaedics, internal medicine, obstetrics, gynaecology, urology, oncology, neurology, physiotherapy and radiography.

Qualifications

Gap Medics welcomes students aged 16 and over and our programs are excellent for both prospective and current medical students.
