Program Description

Work for a catering organization that focuses on special events, owns a restaurant, and runs a pastry shop. Interns will learn from an internationally-minded chef and can gain a detailed understanding of preparing dishes, building customer relations, and kitchen work.

For a broader outlook on the field of Culinary Arts, participants also have the option of learning about Sales and Marketing, the development of the menu, and other important elements of running a successful restaurant business. Gain valuable experience with an up-and-coming chef and get a close look at the many aspects involved in the profession of Culinary Arts.

Interns will build their Spanish language skills through this fast-paced placement. For those who are interested in extra preparation or learning specific vocabulary related to cooking, food, and the kitchen, participants may choose an optional Spanish course at the start of the program.

Qualifications

Like most internships, our internships emphasize on-the-job training rather than simply employment. Interns are usually college or university students, but they can also be high school students or postgraduate adults seeking skills for a new career.

We cooperate with a range of different businesses, state, non-governmental and international organizations. As an intern you will gain insight into Argentine culture and business environments while gaining solid experience in the area you choose. In most placements, you will work with Spanish speaking people, which will further enrich your Spanish knowledge and command of the language.

Spanish is not a requirement for all programs and supplemental Spanish lessons are offered to all program participants.
