Program Description

Albany Asia works with the existing client base to place students and recent grads with local companies in the Phnom Penh area. The goal of our program is to provide students the experience of living and working as a young professional in one of the world's fastest growing developing economies.

While subject to availability, Albany Asia makes every effort to place interns with a company in the industry of their choice. College credit via University of Albany is available.

Industries include: Business consulting, HR, Real Estate, IT, Education, Development and the NGO-sector, Banking, and Logistics.

Financial Aid can be used towards degree-earning internships. Albany Asia is dedicated to making programs accessible.

Highlights

Albany Asia is run by staffing professionals. We seek to provide interns the ability to demonstrate global understanding , cross-cultural communication skills and international business experience.

Students will:

Develop professional skills
Achieve a cultural understanding of the developing world and local business practices
Become global citizens (hopefully) dedicated to greater social responsibility
Expand social and professional networks

This is a not a traditional classroom-based study abroad program.

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in a degree program at a US or Canadian college or university
Must be over 20 years
Must speak English fluently
Must have a valid Passport
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
Prior travel experience is highly preferred
Some internships may require a background check

Internship Types

What`s Included

Programs include:

Internship placement and supervision
Housing for the duration of the program (if required)
Pre-departure and on-site support including 24/7 emergency contact in Cambodia.
On-site orientation working and living in Cambodia.
Airport welcome and transfer to housing or host institution
Assistance with travel plans
Assistance with obtaining local SIM card
Job placement support and career counseling available

Please Note: Students need to budget additional funds for items not included in the program fee, including meals, phone calls, local transportation, supplies and personal expenses.
