Program Description
Potential placement cities include Lisbon, Porto, and Faro.
There are two stages of this internship program:
*A minimum of 3 week in Lisbon or Faro for a Standard Plus Portuguese language course
*An internship around or in Lisbon for 8, 12, or 24 weeks
The language course is important because your language skills contribute to the type and quality of placement. This affects your ability to communicate with colleagues and how you handle work-related tasks. We do not require fluency when beginning the program, but you must be at the Upper Intermediate Level when you are placed in the internship.
The internship can be positions in universities, colleges, schools, NGOs, governmental organizations, and companies in the private sector. There is a 3 month period of work, although this can be extended if both the intern and employer are in agreement and there are no legal issues. We monitor progress at our program office. You will be unable to combine different cities or companies.
Interviews for company assignment take place during the language course. We work to match professional aspirations, professional experience, and academic background to the internship placement. We will contact you for information on ranking preferences which will help us ensure a fitting placement.

Fee covers internship placement.Internships are educational and are therefore unpaid. The companies reserves the right to make a contribution to the participant if they so choose.
