Program Description
Courses: The World of Fashion Grade 12 University/College Preparation (HNB4M)
Join us this March and reach ahead in one of the fashion centers of the world – New York City! Live fashion as students and staff utilize all NYC has to offer in this truly experiential and engaging educational program. Learn first hand from some of the titans and up and coming fashion entrepreneurs, as you visit the famed Greenwich, SOHO and Chelsea neighbourhoods. A trip to the Big Apple would not be complete without taking in a Broadway Show, and the performance of the Brazilian classic, Fuerza Bruta.
The World of Fashion course is meant to be experienced in New York City. Design sketches and plan out an eco-fashion garment themed on a famous NYC neighbourhood – Chinatown, Little Italy and Central Park to name a few. Mix and mingle with some of the city’s fashion designers as you network and interview these artists to gather the essential information needed for your Executive Summary Assessment. Culminate your experiential learning from the program and create a Social Media Portfolio – utilize YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram for this engaging assignment.
