Program Description
SACI’s Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program in Studio Art runs for one academic year. It is a program well suited to those seeking to begin work in a studio art area and would like further training and exposure in the field. Those who do not have a background in studio art, but are looking to purse a career in this field are also welcome to apply. The Post-Bac program offers unique opportunities to those looking to create a significant body of work in their studio art field to prepare for future applications to advanced degree programs.
Students develop skills and study content by spending time in their studios creating work. All graduate students are granted their own studio space inside a Renaissance palazzo situated in the center of Florence, where they create a body of work, make presentations regarding their art, and participate in a graduate exhibition at the end of the year. Students work is on display both for their peers and faculty to see, and it is also open to the public, giving them the opportunity to showcase their work on a larger scale.
