Political Philosophy
Duration of study: 2 years
Credits: 120 ECTS
Language of Instruction: English
Entry requirements: BA in Social Sciences or Humanities, Certificate of English proficiency (B2 level or higher). Final admission is based on oral interview.
Head of the Program: Maxim Khomyakov, Professor, Doctor of Philosophy, Director of the Institute of Social and Political Sciences, Vice-rector of International Relations at Ural Federal University.
Program goal: The program offers a range of courses in modern political philosophy – a discipline that studies the ways, in which people order their collective life, examines what good and just society is, and how our critical capacity and individual agency can transform the world we live in. It is one of the few MA programs in this field existing in Russia, and the only international one, with Program’s core courses taught in English. The program has a strong comparative component, as it balances the Western-oriented canon in political theory with the study of politics by Eurasian and Russian thinkers.
