High Performance Sports Master's Program

The UrFU Institute of Physical Culture, Sport and Youth Policy collaborated to develop and implement this program.

Duration of study: 2 years

Credits: 120 ECTS

Language of Instruction: English

Entry requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Sports sciences or relevant areas, e.g. Exercise science, Physical Education, to enhance their knowledge and training in specialized sports

Program goal:

To train graduates to become experts in the fields of sports coaching as well as how to manage complicated and diverse groups of people.

• Differential Biomechanics and Movement Analysis in Sports

• Metrological Provisions in HPS

• Sports Training Technologies

• Management of Athlete Training

• Theoretical and Methodological Foundations of Athleticism

• Coaching in High Performance Sports

• Non-Training and Non-Competition Factors in the Training of Athletes

• Extreme Conditions in Sports

• Psychological motivation methods in HPS

• Medical support in training and competitive activities

• Sports Pharmacology

• Project Management in Sports

• Psychology of communication and interpersonal relationships in sports

Final examination: Defense of Master’s thesis

We prefer that our students have a background or some experience in the field of sports and coaching prior to the beginning of the course. Students will be encouraged to involve themselves with professional teams and sports clubs.

Career opportunities:

Graduates of the program will be able to pursue careers in the fields of running public and private sports organizations, working in clubs and universities, coaching specialized sports, coordinating programs, and coaching high level athletes.
