Program Description
The Doctorate of Food Technology is a three-year or four-year programme taught in English language at the Faculty of Technology (FT) of Tomas Bata University in Zlín. This study programme focuses on food processing and production, including the use and development of knowledge in biological, chemical, engineering and other scientific disciplines. Based on the acquired profound theoretical knowledge in the field of food production technology, chemistry and food analysis, biochemistry, microbiology and process engineering, graduates are qualified to carry out research in the sphere of food technologies, food production and processing. Students develop knowledge of the influence of technological processes on chemical composition, physicochemical, bio-chemical, microbiological and nutritional characteristics of products to be processed.
Duration: 6 or 8 semesters (3 or 4 academic years)
Mode of study: Full-time/part-time
Degree obtained: Doctoral (abbr. “Ph.D.”)
Tuition fee: approx. EUR 2,410 per 1 academic year
Scholarship: First-year students may be awarded the TBU PhD scholarship amounting up to CZK 96,000 (approx. EUR 3,560) per academic year (full-time students only). Starting from second year, the total annual amount is based on the student’s academic performance.
