DBA in International Business

Program Description

The DBA is a research Doctorate in Business Administration, which aims at making a contribution to management practice. The focus of the DBA is to apply management theory in a new situation. The dissertation may result in a journal publication.

The learning objectives of this Degree are to provide high quality skills and the required knowledge for Company Leaders and Executive Managers. The DBA structure at Horizons University is made up of core and elective courses. These courses are spread out through the three years, and the dissertation is only written during the second and third year. During their time at Horizons University, students will have to take Foundation Seminars. Students complete an independent disser- tation in the last two years of their DBA. The dissertation supervisor is assigned to the doctoral student for guidance only after the Research Proposal is approved by Horizons University.

The DBA is divided into four core areas:

1 - Foundational Seminars:
The Foundational Seminars are included in the DBA program to ensure that students all have a knowledge of basic business areas which are not covered in the Core Courses. These courses are obligatory for graduation, and award extra credit.

» Finance and Accounting

2 - Core Courses:
The core courses designed for the DBA enhance students’ knowledge of research methods. The core courses specifically reinforce the business topics that are important for a DBA.
