GREGORY PELIZZARI, Artist/Director of the ATELIER NEO-MEDICI
teaches an approach to painting known as the "technique mixte",which has its antecedents with the early Northern masters (Jan van Eyck). This technique employs a tempera underpainting over which oil colours are glazed,enabling the artist to achieve a profoundly intricate level of detail and greater luminosity of colour than oil paint alone can produce. The Atelier Neo Medici offers an Annual Course and an Intensive two month course. The Atelier Neo Medici is committed to preparing artists for a vital, creative life. The syllabus reflects a deep respect for traditional forms of teaching, which have produced master artists throughout the ages. The Atelier is centered around the study of nature and the human figure. The Atelier provides a strong academic foundation necessary for advanced critical and creative thought. |
