Reshetnev Siberian State Aerospace University (SibSAU)is a recognized scientific and educational center, occupying a leading position in staff training for industrial and scientific enterprises of Siberia.
Nowadays the University carries out training and graduating at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels, offering a wide range of educational programmes. Today there are over 11,500 students studying at the University. Multilevel system of training at SibSAU offers new opportunities for raising the intellectual level of students, for training highly-qualified professionals and research specialists in various spheres of science and technology. Educational process involves more than 150 doctors of science and professors and 400 candidates of science and docents. The University infrastructure includes the Aerospace College, two subsidiaries, 4 institutes, 9 faculties, 52 departments and a complex of scientific research units. SibSAU was founded in 1960 as a unique dual educational institution, where educational process combines theoretical training with high-quality production experience. This tradition takes place to the present time. Students go into higher education not only within in-class training, but also at base enterprises such as PJSC “Krasmash”, JSC “Academician M.F. Reshetnev “Information Satellite Systems”, PJSC “CCB “Geophysics”, etc. Within last 50 years SibSAU successfully conducts the strategy of innovation development of the University as a research space university with developed sub-divided infrastructure of educational, scientific, technical and operating activity. Quality assurance in the University sector ensures that academic processes are of an internationally respected standard. The quality assurance processes use evidence to check that goals are being achieved and that policies and practices are under ongoing review as part of an overall quality enhancement regime. Proving the high level of quality insurance SibSAU has accreditation at such internationally recognized councils as the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and the European Council for Business Education (ECBE) as well as in the Russian Association of Engineering Education. The University offers an opportunity for foreign students to undertake internships and short-term courses at the Branch resource center “Space Crafts and Systems”,the Students’ Space Mission Control Center of Small Space Vehicles, the Center for Space Exploration (SibSAU Observatory),the Scientific and Training Center “Rocket and Space Technologies” and to take part in the project “Student Satellite” (student small space craft). SibSAU is also actively developing international cooperation with the following foreign universities: the Czech Technical University in Prague (the Czech Republic), Budapest Business School (Hungary), Ulm University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Berlin Technical University (Germany), Beihang University (China), Sofia University St. Kl. Ohridski (Bulgaria) and others. International students from partner universities have an opportunity to undertake internships and short-term courses at the University research centers and units such as the Industry Resource Center “Space Vehicles and Systems”, Student Space Mission Control Center, etc. Partner universities are also involved in working at joint international projects in the TEMPUS, ERASMUS, etc. schemes. The SibSAU faculty staff visit partner universities to give lectures and share gained experience in the professional area, attend various scientific and research conferences while the faculty from partner universities arrive at SibSAU to introduce something new and let the universities develop on a global scale.
