Evergreen International provide volunteer teaching placements for British citizens at “Cultural Exchange Summer Camps” aimed at developing spoken English skills among Chinese school teachers in Southern China. Working with teachers allows the impact of our work to stretch far beyond what we could achieve working only with children; by ensuring we enhance the skills of local teachers from relatively poor areas, we equip them with the tools they need to enrich children’s experience of learning English, which has lasting influence on the education of the thousands of children they go on to teach.
This year our programmes are 3 weeks long, beginning in mid-July. The programme only costs £195 (excluding flights and visa). This covers food and accommodation for the whole duration of your trip PLUS a free, fully inclusive sightseeing tour at the end of the teaching period that gives you an insight into China that a normal backpacker/traveller would never experience. |
