Abaarso School is a boarding high school educating the best and the brightest Somali students in the Horn of Africa. The school encourages morality and a strong sense of responsibility for improving the students' community. While only in its 5th year, Abaarso School has achieved success not seen in the area for several decades. After only its first graduating class in July 2013, Abaarso School students have now gained admission to over 30 international institutions including 25 in the United States. Abaarso students have been admitted to MIT, Amherst, Georgetown, and many other top American institutes, ending a 30+ year drought of no Somali students studying in the United States.
